چکیده

We describe architectures and concurrent error detection, fault-location and recovery techniques for designing reconfigurable systems with high availability, data integrity, and protection from temporary, permanent and common-mode failures. These systems can also be used for unmanned remote applications.

Dependable Adaptive Computing Systems- The ROAR Project

This paper describes the ROAR project. ROAR is an acronym for Reliability Obtained By Adaptive Reconfiguration. Adaptive Computing System (ACS) environments provide opportunities for dependable computing solutions. We identify some of the issues in traditional dependable computing solutions. We show that adaptive and reconfigurable environments address these issues and also enable new innovativ...

Testing Digital Circuits with Constraints

* This work was done at Stanford-CRC and was supported by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. It was also supported by DARPA under contract No. DABT63-97-C-0024 (ROAR project). The authors would like to thank Chien-Mo Li and Chao-Wen Tseng for their help. Abstract Many digital circuits have constraints on the logic values a set of signal lines can have. In this paper, we present two...

Fault-Tolerance Projects at Stanford CRC

This paper describes the fault-tolerant computing research currently active at Stanford University’s Center for Reliable Computing. One focus is on tolerating hardware faults by means of software (software-implemented hardware fault tolerance). This work mainly targets faults caused by radiation induced upsets. An experiment evaluating the techniques that we have developed, is currently running...

Improving the Resilience of Military Hospitals Through Self-Adaptation of Hospital Systems Using Organic Computing

Background and Aim: Among the failures of a disaster, the disruption of the critical infrastructure of the community causes the most damage to society. Therefore, the ability of critical infrastructure such as hospitals to anticipate, absorb, adapt or rapidly recover from a devastating event is essential. The purpose of this study is to design a self-adaptive model for resilient hospital system...
